Skin Health Education Day 2020
DescriptionLeading dermatologists and skin care experts will provide education and training on how to diagnose and treat a range of common skin conditions, particularly suited to nurses, GPs and pharmacists. This one day program will be led by Associate Professor Rosemary Nixon AM.

- Hair loss
- The skin and the psyche
- Food allergies - advise for parents
- Allergic contact dermatitis - top 10 allergens
- Common childhood rashes
- Skin lasers
- Treatment options for BCCs and SCCs
- Treatment of burn scars
- Skin infections
- Dermatologic surgery
- New drugs in dermatology

Learning Outcomes
- Use a systematic approach to making a diagnosis in dermatology
- Perform a thorough skin check (including patient education)
- Discuss new guidelines in identification and management of common skin complaints including psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, ulcers and wounds
- Outline the psychological impact of dermatological conditions on patients
- Provide current treatment advice for these patients and refer to a dermatologist where necessary
